Victoria County voters will decide in local elections today

After seven days of early voting, Election Day is finally here for Victoria County’s local elections. Today voters will elect candidates in 12 races, nine of which are contested.

Voters in election precincts 2, 3, 5, 8, 15, 16, 18, 31, and 35 will elect a trustee for District 3 of The Victoria College board.

Those in precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 31, 32, 34 and 35 will also elect a trustee for the college’s board in District 5. Dstrict 7 seat will also be on the ballot county-wide as an at-large position.

The Victoria school board’s District 3 seat will be determined by precincts 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 31, and the District 5 seat will be determined by precincts 6, 9, 17, 19, 30, and 33.

Drainage District No. 2 – comprised of precincts 12, 13 and 14 – has three director offices on the ballot in places 1, 2 and 3. Drainage district No. 3 – comprised of precincts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 17, 19, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, and 32 – also has three open offices.

Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 in Bloomington, Precinct 13, will elect two directors to serve on the board. Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 in Placedo, Precinct 12, will also elect two directors to the board.

The Quail Creek Municipal Utility District will vote on two candidates to serve on the board of directors as well as a proposition to raise the miscellaneous charge by $5 per month per customer.
