After several months of bond committee meetings, the Bloomington school district has hired an architect and program manager to help prepare for a November bond election.

The bond committee met before the school board at the monthly meeting on Monday.

The committee held a workshop on June 9 at the Bloomington administration office.

“We have made a list of renovations and facilities we would like to have,” said interim superintendent Brad Williams.

The bond committee consisting of school board members, parents, teachers and community members is developing a priority list.

“We are in the process of narrowing our list down,” Williams said.

Among items on that list are new libraries for all campuses, combination science classrooms, a new field house and other renovations and facilities.

Other items discussed at the meeting included a new interim superintendent contract for Williams, who will receive his superintendent certification in August, and a 5 percent salary increase for all hourly employees that will start on Sept. 1.
