Jaguars drop DH to Huskies

HOUSTON – Houston Baptist finished off the University of Houston-Victoria’s baseball season with a doubleheader sweep Saturday to complete a three-game series sweep.

The Huskies (21-22) took the opener 8-2 and then behind a combined three-hitter captured the nightcap 10-0 in six innings. The final game was called due to the 10-run rule.

The Jaguars ended the year at 29-5.

Texas A&M 5, Dallas Baptist 4

COLLEGE STATION – Kevin Gonzalez had three hits and drove in two of Texas A&M’s four runs in the sixth inning in a win over Dallas Baptist.

Aggies reliever Clayton Ehlert (6-2) and Yoakum’s Travis Sterling combined to shutout Dallas Baptist the rest of the way, with Sterling throwing a one-hit ninth for his ninth save.

Baylor 6, Texas 1

WACO – Adam Hornung and Ben Booker both homered in the seventh inning to break open a scoreless game, and Baylor beat Texas for the first time since 2005.
