LINCOLN, Neb. – Game 2 of the Nebraska-Texas A&M series has been postponed because of rain.

The two teams will play a doubleheader today.

The first game is scheduled to begin at noon, with the second starting a half hour after the first ends.

The Aggies beat the Cornhuskers 6-3 in 16 innings in Game 1 of the series on Friday. A&M leads the Big 12, three-and-a-half games ahead of second-place Nebraska.

Oklahoma St. 13, Texas Tech 3

STILLWATER, Okla. – Rebel Ridling homered and had four RBIs and Oklahoma State had 18 hits as the Cowboys beat Texas Tech.

Oklahoma State (37-13, 16-7 Big 12 Conference) clinched its fifth straight conference series win as each of the top eight hitters in the Cowboys’ lineup had at least two hits.

Matt Hague and Tom Belza both had three hits for Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech (21-28, 6-17) had its losing streak extended to four games.

Texas A&M 6, Nebraska 3, 16 inn.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Dane Carter hit a three-run double in the top of the 16th inning, giving Texas A&M a 6-3 victory over Nebraska on Friday night.

The Aggies loaded the bases on three infield singles before Carter, who struck out five times in his first seven at-bats, sent a drive into right field against Dan Jennings (5-1). Carter caught a break during his decisive at-bat when Nebraska catcher Mitch Abeita dropped a pop foul that would have ended the inning.

Yoakum’s Travis Starling (8-0), the Aggies’ regular closer, allowed just four hits in eight shutout innings of relief. He threw 108 pitches.
