PORT O’CONNOR – Wounded soldiers got a break from military hospitals to enjoy the sunny outdoors for a day. Buses transporting the soldiers to Port O’Connor received county-by-county escorts, mainly sheriff’s offices and motorcycles. In towns such as Cuero and Seadrift, residents lined the roads to cheer on the troops. more >>

Ed Wiatt opened Coastal Ed’s Trading Post and Creamery on April 25th after talking with friends about the possibility of creating a retail store and ice cream shop.
