Calhoun County 9 a.m. jury duty canceled PORT LAVACA – Jury duty set for 9 a.m. today in County Court-at-law Judge Alex Hernandez’s court has been canceled. Calhoun County residents called for the service need not appear, according to a news release from County Clerk Anita Fricke. more >>
PORT O’CONNOR – Wounded soldiers got a break from military hospitals to enjoy the sunny outdoors for a day. Buses transporting the soldiers to Port O’Connor received county-by-county escorts, mainly sheriff’s offices and motorcycles. Ed Wiatt opened Coastal Ed’s Trading Post and Creamery on April 25th after talking with friends about the possibility of creating a retail store and ice cream shop.
