Those who want to get on the ballot still have one more chance. The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is Monday. People interested in filing need to check with the entity on whose ballot they want to appear.
School districts in unincorporated communities will hold their board elections in November in conjunction with the general election.
Candidates for Victoria school district and Victoria College boards were printed on Tuesday.

The school board will meet Monday and is expected to accept the resignation of board president Louis Martino, who is being called to active duty with the Marines, and to decide whether to submit the vacancy to a special election on May 10, or to fill the vacancy with an appointment. If it’s filled by appointment, the May 10 school election may be canceled.
