Market day, historical tours to have variety of activities

NORDHEIM – The fourth annual Nordheim Market Day and Historical Tours is scheduled for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The event is a fundraiser for the Nordheim Historical Museum.

Activities include the Victoria A’s with their display of Model A antique cars. Antique tractors will also be on display.

A new event this year is a Motorcycle Fun Run with cash prizes. Entry fee is a $10 donation to the museum. Entry forms are available at Victoria Harley Davidson and Dale’s Fun Center. In Yorktown entry forms are available at the post office, Third Coast, Jesters Court, and Super S. Forms can be picked up in Nordheim at the post office, Wells Fargo Bank, Broadway Bar, Sparky’s, Oralia’s, Pat Hull Realty, and Edgar and Gladys’ Café. Entry forms will also be available the morning of the run at the Broadway Bar where the ride will start. The first bike will leave at 10 a.m. and the last one will return at 3 p.m. Awards will be given out in front of the museum at 3:45 p.m.

There will also be vendor booths, with entry forms available at the same locations in Nordheim and Yorktown as above, featuring. For the kids, there will be a dunking booth, the popular train ride, face painting, guessing jars, movies and coloring for entertainment while the parents shop.

Musical entertainment will include the Sacramental Cowboys from 10-11:30 a.m., the Nordheim Friends and Faculty Band from noon-1 p.m., and Vicki Cross from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The raffle has 45 items with a 32-inch LCD TV as the big prize. The tickets are now on sale through museum members, in Yorktown at Third Coast and Jesters Court, and in Nordheim at Wells Fargo Bank, Broadway Bar, Sparky’s, Oralia’s and Pat Hull Realty. They will also be on sale the day of the event. The drawing will be held at 4 p.m. in front of the museum.

A silent auction will also be held. Donations can be dropped off at the Nordheim City Hall weekdays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and at the Broadway Bar at 5.
