Museum makes some changes

REFUGIO – Hipsters and cheapskates alike will agree: vintage is cool and unique. Now how about a vintage fashion show? I’m not talking Louis Vuitton clutches or ’70s retro wear, this vintage is 18th-century chic. It’s just one of the events Bart Wales, who began as the new co-director for the Refugio County Museum April 1, is planning. Wales holds degrees in environmental design and a master’s degree in architecture from Texas A&M University in College Station. more >>

Refugio Co. residents interested in Bayside branch library

Bolcik, Petropoulos face off for sheriff

REFUGIO – Robert Bolcik won the Refugio County Democratic Party nomination for sheriff. Robert Bolcik received 50.99 percent of the votes, while challenger Dean Ochoa received 41.79 percent. The third candidate, Joel Bear Jr., came in third with 7.22 percent of the votes. more >>
