‘Baby Mama’ one of the funniest movies so far this year

Maybe it’s the approximately 15 years of doing improv sketches together, both in Chicago at Second City and the iO Theater and then more famously on “Saturday Night Live,” that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler share. Or perhaps it’s that other magic the two actresses also display – exquisite comic timing and “chemistry.” It doesn’t hurt that “Baby Mama” also features a well-honed script and some terrific supporting players to round out the picture.Put it all together, and you have one of the funniest movies to be released so far this year. more >>

Hugh Jackman oozes charisma in ‘Deception’

It isn’t the deceit that sells “Deception,” an intriguing new thriller that abandons that intrigue for a messy and unsatisfying finale. It’s watching Hugh Jackman turn some of that lethal charm of his loose on a villain, a smooth, sexy, seductive and dangerous guy who wears a suit a little too well to be trusted. Ewan McGregor stars as Jonathan, a shy, lonely accountant, a guy who can’t even “meet somebody” at work because he’s an auditor, the person who drops in on businesses, goes over their books and makes the few people he meets there uncomfortable by the very nature of the job. more >>

‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’
