Mr. and Mrs. Mateo Flores celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 23, 2008, with a dinner and church service, at Bethel Assembly of God in Port Lavaca.
The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Mateo Flores, originally from Laredo, retired from Union Carbide. Mrs. Mateo Flores is originally from Pharr. The couple are active members of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Port Lavaca.
The couple have three children, Sylvia, Samuel, deceased, and Joel Flores, and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. "
