55th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis M. Foester recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with their immediate family and the family of Ada Beth Foester Bone, sister of Mr. Foester.
The couple was married on Nov. 22, 1952, at First Baptist Church in Port Lavaca by the Rev. J.W. Caldwell.
The anniversary fell on Thanksgiving Day and was celebrated at Lost Pines Resort near Austin. Their two children, daughters, DeLisa Hutchison and Gay Woodward and husband, Mark, hosted the event.
Grandchildren of the couple are Capt. Amanda Hutchison, United States Air Force, and Adam Hutchison of Austin.
Curtis and DeLona Foester have enjoyed many and varied activities during their marriage. One of their favorites has been the antique car collector hobby, which took them to numerous locations, including Europe. Their favorite collector cars have been the two 1948 Tucker automobiles acquired by Curtis at different intervals. Curtis and friends restored them each to their original condition.
After the celebration, Mr. and Mrs. Foester, along with their children and grandchildren, traveled to the Central Texas Museum of Transportation in Rosanky, to tour the huge facility and view the most recently restored Tucker which the museum had just acquired from Curtis; from there the group journeyed to Lockhart where they dined on a family favorite, Texas style bar-be-que at Kruez Restaurant. By then they were all "tuckered out." "
