Michelle Renee Buchhorn and Brian Michael Tomanec, both of Victoria, were married April 5, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Victoria. The Rev. Barney Matocha Jr. officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Arlen and Wanda Buchhorn of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of Weldon and Carrie Mae Buchhorn Sr. of Lindenau, Emil and Annie Frysak Sr. of Victoria and the late Henry Otto.
The groom is the son of John and Jean Tomanec of Victoria. He is the grandson of Betty Tomanec of Cuero and the late Clifford Tomanec, Isabell Van Beveren of Cuero and the late August Van Beveren.
Veronica Buchhorn, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Catrina Seifert, Alysha Dentler and Olga Maystruk, all friends of the bride.
Amber Buchhorn, cousin of the bride, attended as flower girl. Jacob Repka, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Leland Lange, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Kurtz, Thomas Svetlik and Ryan Landrum, all friends of the groom.
Ushers were Kenneth Buchhorn, Henry Buchhorn, brothers of the bride, Thomas Diehl and Timmy Diehl, cousins of the bride.
Justin Cloud, cousin of the bride, served as Acolyte. Lay Reader was Anna Leal, cousin of the groom.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Inez Community Center in Inez. Following wedding travel to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will reside in Victoria.
The bride is a 2000 summa cum laude graduate of Stroman High School, a 2005 graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria with a bachelor degree in general business, and a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor degree in human resource management. She is employed by the Victoria Advocate as a human resources generalist.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of St. Joseph High School, and a 2005 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Victoria Mechanical Services."
