Mary Katherine McCurdy and Jamie Hancock, both of Victoria, were married April 19, 2008, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. The Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Bob and Mary McCurdy of Cuero. She is the granddaughter of the late James and Frances Peyton Jr. of Cuero, and the late Jim and Virginia McCurdy of Cuero. The groom is the son of James and Mary Hancock of Cuero. He is the grandson of the late Jim and Bessie Hancock of Cuero, step-grandfather Matt Bailey of Victoria, and the late Cleo and Ethel Louise Marks of Cuero. Katie Laza and Jenny Wilde, friends of the bride, attended as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Legler, Tessa Pechal, Stacy Finney and Jessa Lee, niece of the groom. Gaige Hartery and Jacquelyn Finney, cousins of the groom, attended as flower girls. Billy Holmes, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer. Karl Allen Marks, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew McCurdy, brother of the bride, Jack Lee, Andrew Jacob, Jeremy Halliburton and Kyle Stasny. Ushers were Fred Finney and Danny Blank. A reception was held following the ceremony at Lindenau Hall in Lindenau. The couple will reside in Victoria. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Cuero High School and a 2004 graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design. She is employed by the Victoria Advocate in the creative services department. The groom is a 1993 graduate of Cuero High School and is pursuing a degree at Victoria College. He is employed by Schwan's Food Company."
