Wendy Michele Reed and John David Sweet, both of Victoria, were married May 3, 2008, at The Victoria Educational Gardens in Victoria. Pastor Michael Malone officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Brian and Teresa Reed of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of Art and Pat Roe of Victoria, Robert and Jean Reed of Richardson, and the late James Anthony "Jim" Harris. The groom is the son of Ms. Debby Sweet of Springdale, Ohio, and John and Barbara Sweet of Victoria. He is the grandson of the late John and Velma Sweet, and the late Elmer and Marlene Bouchonnet. Robin Stovall, aunt of the bride, attended as best woman. Tianna Sweet, niece of the groom, attended as flower girl. Caleb Reed, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. Derek Mercado, best friend of the groom, served as best man. A reception was held at the Officer's Club in Victoria. Special guests attending the reception included the bride's kindergarten class. Following a short trip to Corpus Christi immediately following the wedding and a more relaxed and fun trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, this summer, the couple will reside in Victoria. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Victoria High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is employed by Outreach Academy Charter School in Victoria as a Kindergarten Teacher. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Ky. He is employed by KBM Air Conditioning. "
