n Congratulations to all 4-H members who participated in district contests the past few weekends. Your hard work paid off as Victoria brought home several awards. Official results will be posted in the next edition.

n The deadline to order State Fair of Texas barrow validation tags will be Monday. Tags will cost $10 each. Validation will occur during the month of June at a time and location to be announced. Contact the extension office with any questions.

n Major show steer validation will take place from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Briggs Ranch in Bloomington. If you were planning on state validating a steer, you should have already ordered tags. If you have not paid for your tags, which are $10 each, you are encouraged to stop by the extension office and do so.

n 4-H County Council Officer Elections will take place at the May 20 council meeting. Officer applications are available at the extension office and on the county Web site. All applications are due to the extension office by May 15.

n 4-H County Council and Adult Leader’s Association will have their final meeting of the 4-H year at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, at the extension office. All 4-H members and adults are invited to attend as we wrap up the year with elections and a discussion on Harvest of Fun.

n 4-H record books, award applications, ambassador applications and club scrapbooks are all due to the extension office by June 13. Award and ambassador interviews will be on June 30. Look for more information in the upcoming 4-H Newsletter.
