Goliad's Clemons wins long jump gold

AUSTIN -- Goliad's Amanda Clemons became the first Advocate-area athlete to win a gold medal at the 2008 UIL State Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Clemons won the Class 3A girls long jump.

Yoakum's Tameika Harris won the bronze medal in the event.

Cuero's Brent Johnson won the silver medal in the Class 3A boys long jump, and Cuero's Kaeron Johnson took the bronze in the 3A boys discus.
