A week ago, 1,250; a year ago, 1,245.

Compared last week, better quality classes of stocker & feeder cattle sold $3 - $5 higher, instances $7 higher. Demand much improved. Plainer classes remain slow. Packer cows and bulls sold steady on approximately 150 head.

Packer cows - higher dressing utility & cutter cows, $46-$58.50; lower dressing utility & cutter cows, $37-$46; light weight canner cows, $28-$37. Packer bulls - heavyweight bulls, $65-$68.50; utility & cutter bulls, $61-$65; light weight canner bulls, $57-$61.
