The Asheville, N.C.-based company rents out small and medium-sized construction equipment and tools, according to the Volvo Rents Web site.
The prospective expansion comes because Victoria remains stable, even during the nation’s economic decline, according to a Volvo Rents news release.
Between 2003 and 2007, the release stated, spending in the Victoria metropolitan service area hit 5.78 percent. That number is expected to increase to 6.25 percent between 2008 and 2012.
“The research we’ve done clearly shows that Victoria is an ideal region for Volvo Rents stores,” Nick Mavrick, the company’s vice president of global marketing, said in the release. “We are optimistic about Victoria’s future.”
The construction equipment rental industry also continues to grow, he said, which adds to the expansion. All Volvo Rents locations are independently owned and operated.
The company, a division of Volvo Construction Equipment North America Inc., operates 79 rental centers in North America, 70 in Europe and one in Mexico, according to the release.
