Leslee Lee recently was hired as a travel analyst with the University of Houston-Victoria. Lee worked in the medical field for 10 years and the petrochemical industry for 20 years.

Maggie Moreno recently was hired as the senior student receivables analyst at the University of Houston-Victoria. Moreno worked as the senior secretary in UHV’s Business Services office before assuming her new job.

John D. “Jay” Howard has been promoted to chief operating officer at TrustTexas Bank. Howard has served as executive vice president and chief lending officer for the past year. Howard brings 19 years of banking experience, an MBA and a BBA from the University of Houston, Victoria.

Bryan Haun has been promoted to executive vice president/controller at TrustTexas Bank. Haun has served as senior vice president/controller for the past year and has 24 years of banking experience.

Brandy Miller, senior customer service representative at Greg Haynes Allstate, was recently awarded a length of service award for six years of service at the agency.

Pat Pachta, an agent with State Farm Insurance, has received both the 2007 National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Multiline Sales Award and the 2007 National Sales Achievement Award for the third year in a row. Pachta has been selected to serve a two-year term on State Farm’s Corporate Agent’s Advisory Council.

Agama Advertising’s Bryant Price was inaugurated as the 2008-09 governor of the American Advertising Federation – Tenth District in Dallas at the district’s spring convention. The convention included the governor’s ball as well as the governor’s reception in honor of Price.

Patrick J. Kennedy, economic development finance professional, the city of Yoakum’s economic/community development coordinator accepted the first Economic Excellence Award from the Texas Economic Development Council on behalf of the Yoakum Economic Development Corporation. The award was presented at the TEDC quarterly meeting in El Paso recently.

Yun Wan, an assistant professor of computer information systems and the adviser for the master of science in the CIS graduate program, and Vaishali Kumar and Amina Bukhari co-wrote a paper titled “Will the Overseas Expansion of Facebook Succeed?” The research by Wan, Kumar and Bukhari was published in the May/June issue of IEEE Internet Computing magazine and featured on its Web site, http://www.computer.org/portal/site/internet/.

Roni Reyes is the first associate to receive a “diamond” level of achievement with JC Penney and JC Penney Salon. She has been an associate since 1994.
