Country works when citizens are rational

Mike Mike said,

"I'm not upset with the anti-Obama rants and name-calling because turnabout is fair play...I would like to see what the GOP has done to help our improving economy ,after all they control the purse strings. ..Do they have an alternative health care plan? Yesterday,John Boehner said they were still working on one. It's been over 4 years since ACA was passed ! The GOP can't come up with a plan that insures those with pre-existing conditions, affordable, and allows you to keep your 25 year old on your policy. and they are not that interested..."I've got mine." Country works when citizens are rational

Mike Mike said,

"Nadele Matusevich I do remember Republicans initially served on the healthcare committees but backed out for partisan reasons. The democrats took some of their ideas( individual mandate) and put them into to their Mitt Romney like health care care plann...I don't think 10 million people aquiring insurance for the first time is a bad thing. I don't see the possibility of the healthcare law being overthrown because the full D.C. circuit has four more democrats than republicans. Supreme court Justice Alilito and Scalia are on record saying that the intentions of the law ."In fact, it was Justice Scalia himself, together with Justices Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito, who interpreted the health reform statute precisely this way in the 2012 health reform case—holistically, and assuming the statutory text makes subsidies available on state and federal exchanges alike. In their joint dissent, they wrote:“Congress provided a backup scheme; if a State declines to participate in the operation of an exchange, the Federal Government will step in and operate an exchange in that State.” http://pollways.bangordailynews.com/2014/07/24/national/supreme-court-obamacare-subsidies/ "Washington (CNN) – More than half the public says Obamacare has helped either their families or others across the country, although less than one in five Americans say they have personally benefited from the health care law, according to a new national poll. A CNN/ORC International survey also indicates that a majority of Americans oppose the Affordable Care Act, but that some of that opposition is from people who don't think the measure goes far enough." http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/07/23/cnn-poll-is-obamacare-working/ I will answer one of your questions because the other two are subjective. You would have to supply specifics. I think the First Amendment is protected and I don't feel any less secure.Of course we are better off since we were losing 750,000 a month Today:" Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 288,000 in June, and the unemployment rate declined to 6.1 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains were widespread, led by employment growth in professional and business services, retail trade, food services and drinking places, and health care. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf" - 2 hours, 46 minutes ago

Let the president do what he does best

Mike Austin said,

"At this juncture, my vote is for anyone who shows the slightest bit of true understanding of how our constitution was designed to work......be they Ass, Elephant, or actually a fully functional human. We without a doubt, need a new leader that is truly representative of all of our opinions. Short of finding some honky who fits that mold, maybe it is time for another armed revolution. A "last man standing" government really couldn't be a hell of a lot worse than the weak kneed do nothing other than issue complaints and impose "sanctions" moron at the switch at present..........he is a nutless, lawyer to whom the same words, rearranged, is the strongest response he will have to any national security issue. Obammy is counting the days until he and Michelle and the girls switch from actually being in charge, to their own version of "welfare". I wish them luck........not necessarily the good version, if he escapes the White House without being indicted for his failure to adhere to the constitution.......but then again he IS a lawyer, and an experienced and accomplished ambulance chaser. I wouldn't look for his name in lights, even ten years from now. He is just another Chicago crook, and it is just a matter of time until he is behind bars like the majority of Chicago politicians before him. ." - 17 hours, 49 minutes ago

"Lol Dale said " Now let us return to slumber and pray that in two years and six months the citizens of this Land can repair the harm done to the Republic by this occupier of the office.".....That makes perfect sense give it to the party who shut down the government and lost $24 billion in economic output. Give the keys back to the party who got us into this mess. No thank you, besides unless your party makes a serious dent in the 96% of black vote who voted against you, single women in double digits,Asians and Hispanics by 72%, you are just whistling Dixie as the current polls show. Let the president do what he does best

Mike Mike said,

"John Schlembach you won't get an intelligent answer from them because it's obvious they never took the time to actually read the final report. They will give you an childish answer like take the funds out of the president's vacation. The State Dept. & Intelligence and Amb. Stevens were blamed and I will insert the exact quotes. Not to worry they will pivot as it gets closer to 2016 and lay all the Hillary's State Dept. because it's all about getting out the vote ,fundraising and trying to win in 2016. If they lose in 2016 it's over for them....Anyway from the report " The report notes that Mr. Stevens was aware of all of the intelligence reporting on Libya, including updates on the increased risks of anti-Western terrorist attacks that had prompted the C.I.A. to substantially upgrade the security at its own Benghazi facility in June 2012. At times, Mr. Stevens requested additional security personnel from the State Department in Washington. But the inquiry also found that in June 2012, around the time the threats were mounting, Mr. Stevens recommended hiring and training local Libyan guards to form security teams in Tripoli and Benghazi. The plan showed a faith in local Libyan support that proved misplaced on the night of the attack. During an Aug. 15, 2012, meeting on the deteriorating security around Benghazi that Mr. Stevens attended, a diplomat stationed there described the situation as “trending negatively,” according to a cable sent the next day and quoted in the report. A diplomatic security officer “expressed concerns with the ability to defend post in the event of a coordinated attack due to limited manpower, security measures, weapons capabilities, host nation support, and the overall size of the compound.” A C.I.A. officer at the meeting pointed out the location of approximately 10 Islamist militias and Al Qaeda training camps within Benghazi, according to the same cable. After reading the cable, Gen. Carter F. Ham, then the commander of the United States Africa Command, called Mr. Stevens to ask if the embassy in Tripoli needed additional military personnel, potentially for use in Benghazi, “but Stevens told Ham it did not,” the report said. A short time later, General Ham reiterated the offer at a meeting in Germany, and “Stevens again declined,” the report said." http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/16/world/middleeast/senate-report-finds-benghazi-attack-was-preventable.html?_r=0" - 1 day, 2 hours ago

Let the president do what he does best

Mike Mike said,

" Mr. Zuck I'm going to personalize this response, but I won't be lectured by someone who voted for the 2000-2008 Republicans t who created the greatest recession since the great depression by getting us into two wars, passing two tax cuts and in that same period passed a $7 trillion prescription-drug bill that was not paid for. Then in 2008 we had the financial crisis that left the incoming president with the problem of 750,000 job losses a month and a negative 9 GDP....This administration with no help from the GOP dug us out of that hole. Don't take my word for it check out today's paper section A5 with the headline "Economy may now be sturdier than before Great Recession." Don't like that? Today's financial news tells us that the US jobless rate is the lowest its has been in the last eight years. What does your Tea Party/Libertarian/Republicans have to show as their major accomplishment? ..Over ten million more people now have health insurance, Bin Laden is dead, and GM is still alive to borrow a Dem slogan. .......I'm an unabashed liberal who still stands with President Obama (41% approval), and you stand with the 7% Congress I assume....Did the president do this all by himself? Of course not, the money the White House spent was appropriated by Congress. No the bi-partisan Senate Committee did not lay the blame on President Obama for Benghazi as they didn't Ronald Reagan,George W. Bush or any president when our embassies or marine barracks have been attacked. Name one Senator on that committee who has blamed President Obama for Benghazi? It wasn't about the GOP decreasing funds for security because Libya at that time was ripe for attack and the only remedy was to evacuate every time there's a rumor of a terrorist plot. If you're going to do that was the purpose of an embassy? I'm not one of those democrats who is going to placate to the right of because I know the favor won't be returned. I will remind you that on the day of the first presidential inauguration, Representative Ryan and all his cohorts were just down the street plotting to derail this president. You have a good day." - 1 day, 3 hours ago
