Alternative rock band 10 Years is coming to the Riverside Multiplex on Tuesday. After opening for acts such as Velvet Revolver and Static X, the band will be headlining the concert at Riverside, owner Homer Escalante said. Also performing will be Fair to Midland and Rev Theory. According to their bio, 10 Years formed three years ago in Knoxville, Tenn. and in 2005 released their debut album, “The Autumn Effect.” more >>
The Victoria Bach Festival returns June 15-20 and tickets are now on sale for performances throughout the week. The line-up includes classical guitarist Paul Galbraith, Grammy-winning vocalist Cynthia Clawson, violin concertos by Bach and Vivaldi, and Eric Clapton songs performed on the harpsichord by artistic director Craig Hella Johnson, according to a Bach Festival news release. The festival culminates with a performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Requiem” that will feature a combined orchestra and chorus of 280 musicians. more >>

Oh, darling, if you thought “Desperate Housewives” was scandalous, just wait until you see its predecessor. Complete with gossip, glamour and gold digging, the latest Theatre Victoria production has more catfights than you can shake a martini at. Aptly called “The Women,” the play is set in Manhattan in the late 1930s and features no less than 27 volunteer actresses from throughout South Texas, director Scott Mohon said. Written in 1936 by Clare Boothe Luce and made into a film in 1939, the comedy follows these females as they scheme, plot and try not to scratch out each other’s eyes. more >>
The annual Rockport Center for the Art’s Tour of Homes takes place this weekend and will feature six homes and one boat, according to a news release. More than 1,000 visitors went on the tour last year and event officials are expecting an increase this year. More than 250 docents will be on hand to answer questions about the homes and the boat, according to the release. more >>
