There will be a reception in honor of newly appointed Judge John A. George on July 2 in the County Commissioner's courtroom in the Victoria County Courthouse.
George has been appointed to preside over child support matters brought by the office of the state Attorney General. He will be assigned to all 23 counties in the Fourth Region but will primarily hear cases in Aransas, Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio and Victoria counties.
