The Cuero Masonic Lodge will host its annual Cuero Swine Prospect Show Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Friar Ag Center, inside the Cuero city park.

The event is like any other show, but judges offer advice regarding animals' weight, composition and more. The goal is to help Crossroads children prepare for area stock shows.

An optional showmanship competition will also take place.

Entry is $20 per head in swine judging and $5 per person in showmanship.

Weigh-in is 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and the showmanship competition begins at 1 p.m. Swine judging begins immediately after.

The event is open to those enrolled in school beneath the college level.

It operates on a five-breed format, and breeds include York, crosses, OPB,Duroc and Hamp. Barrows and gilts only.

Prizes will be awarded.
