Come & Take It Battle Re-enactment

On Oct. 2, 1835, the Mexican authorities sent a force of 100 men to repossess a cannon that had been provided to the residents of Gonzales for defense against Native Americans. In response to the Mexican forces, the Texans, loaded the cannon with bits and pieces of iron and fired the shot that began the revolution. On Oct. 5, 2013 at Gonzales Pioneer Village the re-enactment of that event will take place. The gates will open at 1 p.m. and the battle will begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $8.00 for adults $5.00 for children 4-12. For more information call (830) 672-2157, or email at email@example.com.
