The Bay City Chamber of Commerce's Agriculture/Aquaculture Committee, along with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Leadership Advisory Board, will host a water conference Thursday, Sept. 19.
The event, which begins at 9 a.m., takes place at the Bay City Civic Center, 201 7th St., Bay City.
*David Burnett, director of technology for the Global Petroleum Research Institute at Texas A&M, who will discuss desalination and its potential for the future
*Haskell Simon, chairman of the Coastal Plains Groundwater Conservation District, who will discuss groundwater supplies and guidelines
*John Nielsen-Gammon, Texas state climatologist, who will discuss the Texas drought, past present and future
*Rep. Dennis Bonnen, who will discuss water issues from the recent legislative session.
Bonnen's presentation takes place during the annual Rice Luncheon.
