Barbershop-stye harmony will highlight "Songs for Sweethearts," the Valentine's dinner to be held Saturday, Feb.13, to benefit Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
Entertainment will be provided by Victoria's Toast of the Coast Barbershop Chorus and the Just Jammin' ladies quartet from the Sweet Adelines in Corpus Christi.
Site of the show will be the Hiller Activity Center of the First English Lutheran Church,500 block of North Main Street in Victoria. Doors open that evening at 6p.m. with a silent auction and sweetheart photos. Dinner, featuring a choice of ribeye steak, grilled snapper, fried jumbo shrimp or baked chicken breast, will be served at 7p.m. by Chef Charlie and his staff. Show starts at 7:30 and will feature old-time barbershop favorites such as "My Wild Irish Rose" and "Sweet Adeline," as well as a variety of newer tunes. Tickets at $30 each include dinner, non-alcoholic beverage and entertainment.
Some sponsorships are still available. Current sponsors include H-E-B (Sweetheart Sponsor), First Victoria, Wells Fargo and other well-known names. All net proceeds will go to the Food Bank.
