EDITOR, THE ADVOCATE:
At the Texas Democratic Party’s Moving Texas Forward Convention on June 5-7 in Austin, remember this name: Emery Cox.
The voters in Jackson County Senate District 18, Precinct No. 2, elected me to represent them in Austin. I received the votes needed to advance to the state convention in Austin as a delegate.
My suitcase is packed, my support is unwavering, my commitment is steadfast, my loyalty firm. I will represent the Democrats in Jackson County with dignity and honor.
The voters in Edna raised nearly $1,000 towards the presidential campaign for the March primary and are to be congratulated for their donations and support.
Now I ask the Democratic leaders, committee leaders and the nominating committee leaders attending this historic convention to nominate me, Emery Cox, and second the nomination for Cox as a delegate to the Denver national convention in August.
Again, my suitcase is packed, my support is unwavering, my commitment is steadfast, and my loyalty firm.
I have been married for 21 years, disabled from an industrial accident in 1997, and we watch over my 90-years-young, double-amputee father.
Thank you all for your trust. Stand up or stand aside.
EMERY COX
EDNA
