Port Lavaca Art Guild starts classes

PORT LAVACA –The Port Lavaca Art Guild will start art classes for adults and children on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sept. 8 at 308 E. Mahan St.

Adult classes in watercolor, colored pencil, drawing and oil painting will be taught by Barbara Burkett, Sonny Timme and Patty Lowrie. All mediums will be taught in all classes unless specified.

Burkett will teach classes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the first and second Wednesday and the first and second Friday of each month.

Timme will teach classes from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

Lowrie will teach adult beginner oil classes from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday.

Margo Thorn will teach children’s classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting and more starting Sept. 8 and 9. Classes for elementary students, from first to fifth grades, will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Mondays and from 4 to 5 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

Secondary student classes will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays.
