Editor, the Advocate:

According to a cartoonist anyone who does not vote for Obama is racist. I believe this makes the cartoonist the biggest racist of all. He is trying to make this political race about color and wants you to not study Obama’s character.

I find this to be very offensive and shows the Advocate to be racist for publishing it. I have not supported a Democrat since Kennedy and I won’t vote for Nobama. McCain’s not much better either, if at all.

It would be nice if either party would put up a decent person, who believes in the Constitution for a change. They all seem to want to change some part of it to meet their own agendas and when election time comes we have a choice of lesser of two evils.

Remember this a government large enough to give you everything is also large enough to take everything. PRAY for this country that God would withhold his wrath. We have come very far down the path of immorality.

Victoria Advocate please use some common sense when showing political cartoons and not show ones from people who hate anyone who can think for themselves. This presidential race should not be about race, so stop making it a race contest.

David Newman

  • You know the Advocate ran a cartoon about Bill Clinton being hauled away from the Democratic National Convention for being a protester...ha ha.... It was a cartoon, and I'm glad no one on the left wrote in to complain. You can tune in 1340 AM all day ling for right wing radio ,so it's not like the right is being picked on,denied freedom of the press,or civil liberties....I thought The Sunni & the Shia were the only ones that argued over trivial matters.

  • Mr. Newman is exactly correct about this cartoon. And it goes with many of the bias cartoons the VA has been running.

You would never guess they are left leaning would you?

  • For all the rants that the previous poster defends, his words proclaim "I am not what my statements say I am!"

Sorry, young man. Learn one thing. WORDS have meaning. Your abundant use of them weakens your arguments and reveal your true feelings. No one is twisting your words.

BigJ, I suppose you next will tell us you have lots of white friends.

    You are a sad stereotype

  • Ah, another Zappa fan. How about this one: "Everyone in this room is wearing a uniform and don't kid yourselves."
I'm grateful that the Advocate ran this bit of execrable opinion. It's a window to the mentality of some of Obama's supporters.

  • What about BigJ's "under the table" comments, his "implied comments", and out right anti-anglo commentaries? Aren't they racist as well. Or does he get a "free pass" as the author of the letter proclaims.

  • "I'm not black, but there are a whole lot of times I wish I could say I weren't white."

  • Wait, so if you are "white", then you are a racist?

I think a quick glance in the mirror is in order..
