The Independence Day schedule for governmental offices and other services in the Victoria area includes:

GARBAGE SCHEDULE

Residential garbage will not be collected.

The landfill near Bloomington will be closed.

The recycling center will be closed.

TEXAS ZOO

The zoo will be open regular business hours.

City Pool

The Gary T. Moses Municipal Swimming Pool will be closed. Regular pool hours will resume Saturday. Pool hours are from noon to 6 p.m. daily.

CITY, COUNTY AND STATE OFFICES

All city, county and state offices will be closed.

All emergency services which will continue to operate through the holiday. Victoria Transit fixed and flex routes will be open.

MUSEUMS

All museums are closed.

LIBRARIES

The Victoria Public Library and The Victoria College/University of Houston-Victoria Library will be closed.

U.S. POSTAL SERVICE

The post offices will be closed. There will be express mail delivery only.

FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

First Convenience Bank in the Wal-Mart SuperCenter and the IBC branch in H-E-B Plus will be open; all other banks will be closed.

SCHOOLS

All schools will be closed.

VICTORIA ADVOCATE

All departments will be closed. A customer service representative will be available between 6 and 10 a.m by calling 361-574-1200 . Obituary department will be open until noon Friday, all obits are due by noon. The newsroom will have staff available after 2 p.m.
