Editor, the Advocate:

Recently, the Victoria Police Department held an opportunity for auto owners to have their vehicles registered for the HEAT program and also have their vehicle's windows etched with their vehicle identification number (VIN). Both services are an effort to curb vehicle theft.

I would like to thank the officers and civilian academy members for their efforts in stopping auto theft.

I had my vehicles windows etched, and, while the wait was long, it was well worth the time!
