If your plans for the Fourth of July weekend involve the beach or a barbecue, make sure to have an umbrella handy.
It might not be used to block the sun but you might need it for the possible chance of rainfall that is forecasted.
Larry Mifled with the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi said the weekend is looking partly cloudy.
“Friday to Sunday there is a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain throughout the weekend,” Mifled said.
Highs for today are expected to be in the upper 80s in the afternoon and in the low 70s by the evening with a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms throughout the day.
“Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain,” Mifled said.
By Sunday, the weather seems to be clearing up with a 30 percent chance of rain and mostly cloudy skies.
