Laurent Street will be closed to traffic between Loma Vista Avenue and Park Street on Monday so workers can install new underground traffic conduits, according to a City of Victoria news release.
This street closure will be in effect at least one night, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting.
Drivers can expect major delays in this area and should use alternate routes to get around the work zone if possible. Drivers traveling south on Laurent Street will be able to utilize Levi Street as a detour route.
The construction is part of phase I of the $9,885,800 Laurent Street Reconstruction Project from Business U.S. Highway 59 to Airline Road.
The project is expected to take about 18 months to complete. The contractor, Triple B Services, Inc. of Huffman, plans to mobilize additional personnel to expedite the project and reduce the construction time and inconvenience to the public, according to the release.
