Editor, the Advocate:

I can just hear some people right now, “17 dogs and cats, 20 horses” what is wrong with that woman? “Her cable sure don’t go all the way to the top!” Well, a little history is in order: Donna Odem-Dollins comes by it naturally. If you knew her mother, Majorie Vanek, you would understand. Majorie never met a horse, dog, or cat that she didn’t like. Majorie would offer a helping hand to most two-legged strays, also. But Donna’s horses don’t just burn up oats and hay. She uses the horses to help children with various problems. Personally, I don’t know how Donna finds the time or the energy to do all that she does. But aren’t we glad that there are people like Donna out there, who just naturally can’t help but offer a hand and say, “Can I Help?” Thanks Donna, and thanks to all the firemen who do what they do every day.
