Re: When dogs are in car, be careful (Yolanda Garza.)
Try to not be too harsh towards the pet owners who take their companions along with them for the “ride.” Many pet owners hate to leave their friends at home all alone. However, it is much safer to have them buckled in just as they would any other love one riding with them.
I love to take my Schatzie with me as much as possible. He is a small shih tzu and he has his own little car seat that is secured using the car seatbelt.
He is also buckled in by his harness. He is much more comfortable in his own seat rather than on my lap.
Of course, we do get second looks and stares, and many people laugh at me for having a car seat for him.
He sits up in his seat and looks out the window, and people driving by can see him, too. I must say so myself, Schatzie is so cute riding in the car in his car seat.
