The Victoria and Bloomington school districts say they have kept up with the Texas Teacher Retirement System benefits.

“With all our teachers, it totals to about $170,00 for the district a year in benefits,” said Diane Boyett, communication specialist for Victoria Independent School District.

Misty Brasfield, business manager for the Bloomington District said the employee puts in 6.4 percent and the state puts in the 6.58 percent to the TRS.
