Editor, the Advocate:

A noted heart specialist in the city has a phone number that hangs up if no touch tone is used -- not even one which asks to say “one,” “two” etc. if no punch, and worst, a hang up if no punch. Every other business has a person answer if no punch or number is said. An AT&T operator got the number for me on the third attempt, twice, probably to see if you really got a hang up . What does the rest of the citizens think about this?

  • Soooo,,....what's the problem? If I could find one that works I would use it too. Yes, I use a 6Ghz phone now. But, if the old phone works, really, what is the problem? He probably has a less stressfull life than us.

Speaking of tubes,...where do you get tubes for old radio's? Might need one or two for an old AM. But then again, no place to test them anymore.

  • We should all go back to rotary phones. The phone company has a fee that they charge you for using a touchtone phone. Kind of annoying since, except for at least one person, few people use rotary phones anymore.
