GANADO – A 61-year-old man died and three others were injured in a one car roll-over wreck on U.S. Highway 59 about one mile north of Ganado on Sunday afternoon.
Alejandro Reyna Bautista of Dixon was driving his Chevrolet Suburban south when a deer darted in front of the vehicle, Cpl. Charlie Ramirez of the Department of Public Safety in Corpus Christi said. Bautista swerved to avoid the deer and went off the road.
He swerved again, Ramirez said, and the car skidded across the highway and rolled over several times.
Bautista and Maya Amriz, 6, were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the SUV, Ramirez said. Bautista was pronounced dead at 2:52 p.m. at Citizens Medical Center. The girl was treated for a broken arm and collarbone.
Two other passengers, Marissa Amriz, 13, and Anna Bautista, 21, all of Dixon, were treated for minor injuries at Citizens Medical Center, Ramirez said. Both wore seatbelts.
“We encourage people to always wear their seatbelts,” Ramirez said. “This is preventable.”

Sad situation, prayers go out to the survivors.
And to think all he had to do was buckle up and he may be with his family today.
Wonder why he chose not to?
July 16, 2008 at 2:56 p.m.Alejandro is from Dickinson and he was not the driver. His oldest daughter Angelica Ambriz was the driver. He passed away early in the morning.
