Editor, the Advocate:
Common sense and courtesy: This is for the elderly, the handicapped and the young. Some of the other ones don’t have any common sense or courtesy. I’m a 70-year-old in a wheelchair, and so is my 44-year-old son. We were with a 17-year-old bagger at H-E-B at 8:40 a.m. Saturday. We were leaving the store, and the bagger was helping us across the parking lot, when the first car came barreling at us and had to swerve around us, and then the second car would not stop, so we had to stop before she hit us. We have her license number, and, for the life of me, I don’t know what the hurry was. So much for taking care of the elderly and handicapped in Victoria. As far as the young man who was doing such a good job, his parents did a really good job, and I thank God that none of us were hurt. These people need to slow down!

Good point ,many blind spots in parking lots.... People should also slow down in neighborhoods for obvious reasons, but right now school is out and I'm beginning to see a lot of new cyclists in the neighborhood...That extra 7-10 mph will not get you to that stop sign that much faster.
