EL DORADO, Ark. - The Tri-County 16-18 year-old survived elimination in the Southwest Regional Babe Ruth baseball tournament on Sunday with a 13-0 win over Helena, Miss.

Shiner’s Kyle Condel went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, while Flatonia’s Coty Schacherl had a three-run double to lead the attack.

Cuero’s Jake Rangnow was 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI, while Hallettsville’s Aaron Alvarez was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.

Tri-County put the game away in the fifth with nine runs.

Tri-County faces Pine Bluff, Ark. on Monday at 5 p.m. with the winner facing East Texas at 8 p.m.

Tri-County opened play Friday with an 11-7 win over Union City, before dropping a 6-2 decision to Houma, La. on Saturday.
