The skies should begin to clear over the Victoria area today as the outer bands of Hurricane Dolly move out of the area.
“With the lingering moisture there could be an isolated shower or two, but it will mostly clear out as the rain bands from Dolly leave the area,” said Katie Roussy, National Weather Service forecaster from Corpus Christi.
Officially, the forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 92 degrees and heat index values as high as 102. The winds will be from the south to southeast between 6 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Rainfall totals from the Victoria Airport showed less than one inch of rain since Dolly began affecting the area Tuesday night, according to the NWS. Port Lavaca got the most rain, 1.87 inches through Wednesday night. Refugio got about 3/4 of an inch through Wednesday.
Except for Victoria, Thursday rainfall totals were not yet available.
