CUERO – The Cuero City Council has appointed seven members to a Charter Review Committee.
The city’s home rule charter calls for a committee of between four and seven members to be formed every two years in July and convene for no more than six months.
Named to the committee were Isabel Patton, W.L. “Buzz” Edge, Esther DeLosSantos, Charles Papacek, Terry Stock, Sarah Meyer and William Finney.
Also during Tuesday’s special session, the council accepted an $84,618 Homeland security grant. The money will be used to buy equipment for the police department, fire department and emergency medical services. The equipment includes radios for police cars and fire trucks and well as hand-held radios for the fire department and EMS.

Excellent choices for the Charter Review Committee. All of those folks are outstanding, long term citizens of Cuero and have the best interests of the city at heart.
