Illegal immigration is a federal crime that needs to be stopped, and unwanted visitors must be severely punished.

“It is time the people of the United States wake up and smell the roses because the roses stink,” said William Yates, a 49-year-old Beeville man.

“Illegal aliens do not respect our country’s sovereignty, our country’s laws, our people, nor our way of life. They sneak into our country to steal from us and take whatever they can get from us.”

Yates is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Germany. His wife, Mei Yin Yates, is from China. She is a legal permanent U.S. resident seeking her citizenship.

“We both came here to the U.S. legally,” Yates said. “I am all for legal, controlled immigration into the U.S.”

Most Americans are sick and tired of illegal aliens invading our country and bringing their problems with them.

Illegal immigrants drain public funds and jobs, and hurt the quality of education, health care and other services designed for Americans.

“Illegal aliens crossing our borders illegally are criminal terrorists and must be treated as such.”

To stop the immigrants, our borders must be sealed.

“The punishment for illegal immigration needs to be so severe that no alien considering entering our country illegally would want to try it,” said Yates, a veteran of the Air Force and Texas Air National Guard.

“Aliens attempting to invade our country, cross our borders illegally and do harm to our country and its people should be shot on sight once they are on the U.S. side of the border,” Yates said.

Those who cross successfully should be rounded up, arrested, tried as terrorists and sentenced to hard labor and a life in prison.

“Those who die at the border trying to cross the border illegally, in the desert, in the back of hot trailers, or at the hands of coyotes should consider themselves fortunate that they don’t have to suffer a lifetime of imprisonment and hard labor on U.S. government pea farms,” Yates said.

We have different levels of biometric cards ,and the tamper proof is what we are striving for, to tackle the fraudulent documentary business...A key component in preventing illegal immigration..

We already have the DEA, and wouldn't it be easier to curb our drug appetite...Sorta like cleaning up our own backyard first.....That going into Mexico has to be approved by the government of Mexico...Texas Governor Rick P Perry and some federal congressional memebers are already receiving flak for a joint drug prevention program in Mexico. It was called a waste of resources.

Aggressive offensive measures is not the way to go, without replacing the technology we are using IMO.

I guess we'll have to differ on this issue.

Constitution? Whey will have to let the Supreme Court sort that out.

  • I HAVE A PLAN TO DESTROY AMERICA
    RICHARD D. LAMM

I HAVE A SECRET PLAN TO DESTROY AMERICA. IF YOU BELIEVE, AS MANY DO, THAT AMERICA IS TOO SMUG, TOO WHITE BREAD, TOO SELF-SATISFIED, TOO RICH, LETS DESTROY AMERICA. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO DO. HISTORY SHOWS THAT NATIONS ARE MORE FRAGILE THAN THEIR CITIZENS THINK. NO NATION IN HISTORY HAS SURVIVED THE RAVAGES OF TIME. ARNOLD TOYNBEE OBSERVED THAT ALL GREAT CIVILIZATIONS RISE AND THEY ALL FALL, AND THAT “AN AUTOPSY OF HISTORY WOULD SHOW THAT ALL GREAT NATIONS COMMIT SUICIDE.” HERE IS MY PLAN:

    I. WE MUST FIRST MAKE AMERICA A BILINGUAL-BICULTURAL COUNTRY. HISTORY SHOWS, IN MY OPINION, THAT NO NATION CAN SURVIVE THE TENSION, CONFLICT, AND ANTAGONISM OF TWO COMPETING LANGUAGES AND CULTURES. IT IS A BLESSING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO BE BILINGUAL; IT IS A CURSE FOR A SOCIETY TO BE BILINGUAL. ONE SCHOLAR, SEYMOUR MARTIN LIPSET, PUT IT THIS WAY:

THE HISTORIES OF BILINGUAL AND BICULTURAL SOCIETIES THAT DO NOT ASSIMILATE ARE HISTORIES OF TURMOIL, TENSION, AND TRAGEDY. CANADA, BELGIUM, MALAYSIA, LEBANON-ALL FACE CRISES OF NATIONAL EXISTENCE IN WHICH MINORITIES PRESS FOR AUTONOMY, IF NOT INDEPENDENCE. PAKISTAN AND CYPRUS HAVE DIVIDED. NIGERIA SUPPRESSED AN ETHNIC REBELLION. FRANCE FACES DIFFICULTIES WITH ITS BASQUES, BRETONS, AND CORSICANS.

II. I WOULD THEN INVENT “MULTICULTURALISM” AND ENCOURAGE IMMIGRANTS TO MAINTAIN THEIR OWN CULTURE. I WOULD MAKE IT AN ARTICLE OF BELIEF THAT ALL CULTURES ARE EQUAL: THAT THERE ARE NO CULTURAL DIFFERENCES THAT ARE IMPORTANT. I WOULD DECLARE IT AN ARTICLE OF FAITH THAT THE BLACK AND HISPANIC DROPOUT RATE IS ONLY DUE TO PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION BY THE MAJORITY. EVERY OTHER EXPLANATION IS OUT-OF-BOUNDS.

III. WE CAN MAKE THE UNITED STATES A “HISPANIC QUEBEC” WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT. THE KEY IS TO CELEBRATE DIVERSITY RATHER THAN UNITY. AS BENJAMIN SCHWARZ SAID IN THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY RECENTLY:

...THE APPARENT SUCCESS OF OUR OWN MULTIETHNIC AND MULTICULTURAL EXPERIMENT MIGHT HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED NOT BY TOLERANCE BUT BY HEGEMONY. WITHOUT THE DOMINANCE THAT ONCE DICTATED ETHNOCENTRICALLY, AND WHAT IT MEANT TO BE AN AMERICAN, WE ARE LEFT WITH ONLY TOLERANCE AND PLURALISM TO HOLD US TOGETHER.

I WOULD ENCOURAGE ALL IMMIGRANTS TO KEEP THEIR OWN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE. I WOULD REPLACE THE MELTING POT METAPHOR WITH A SALAD BOWL METAPHOR. IT IS IMPORTANT TO INSURE THAT WE HAVE VARIOUS CULTURAL SUB-GROUPS LIVING IN AMERICA REINFORCING THEIR DIFFERENCES RATHER THAN AMERICANS, EMPHASIZING THEIR SIMILARITIES.

IV. HAVING DONE ALL THIS, I WOULD MAKE OUR FASTEST GROWING DEMOGRAPHIC GROUP THE LEAST EDUCATED - I WOULD ADD A SECOND UNDERCLASS, UNASSIMILATED, UNDEREDUCATED, AND ANTAGONISTIC TO OUR POPULATION. I WOULD HAVE THIS SECOND UNDERCLASS HAVE A 50% DROP OUT RATE FROM SCHOOL.

    V. I WOULD THEN GET THE BIG FOUNDATIONS AND BIG BUSINESS TO GIVE THESE EFFORTS LOTS OF MONEY. I WOULD INVEST IN ETHNIC IDENTITY, AND I WOULD ESTABLISH THE CULT OF VICTIMOLOGY. I WOULD GET ALL MINORITIES TO THINK THEIR LACK OF SUCCESS WAS ALL THE FAULT OF THE MAJORITY - I WOULD START A GRIEVANCE INDUSTRY BLAMING ALL MINORITY FAILURE ON THE MAJORITY POPULATION.

VI. I WOULD ESTABLISH DUAL CITIZENSHIP AND PROMOTE DIVIDED LOYALTIES. I WOULD “CELEBRATE DIVERSITY.” “DIVERSITY” IS A WONDERFULLY SEDUCTIVE WORD. IT STRESSES DIFFERENCES RATHER THAN COMMONALITIES. DIVERSE PEOPLE WORLDWIDE ARE MOSTLY ENGAGED IN HATING EACH OTHER-THAT IS, WHEN THEY ARE NOT KILLING EACH OTHER. A DIVERSE,” PEACEFUL, OR STABLE SOCIETY IS AGAINST MOST HISTORICAL PRECEDENT. PEOPLE UNDERVALUE THE UNITY IT TAKES TO KEEP A NATION TOGETHER, AND WE CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS MYOPIA. LOOK AT THE ANCIENT GREEKS. DORF’S WORLD HISTORY TELLS US:

THE GREEKS BELIEVED THAT THEY BELONGED TO THE SAME RACE; THEY POSSESSED A COMMON LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE; AND THEY WORSHIPED THE SAME GODS. ALL GREECE TOOK PART IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES IN HONOR OF ZEUS AND ALL GREEKS VENERATED THE SHRINE OF APOLLO AT DELPHI. A COMMON ENEMY PERSIA THREATENED THEIR LIBERTY. YET, ALL OF THESE BONDS TOGETHER WERE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO OVERCOME TWO FACTORS . . . (LOCAL PATRIOTISM AND GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITIONS THAT NURTURED POLITICAL DIVISIONS . . .)

IF WE CAN PUT THE EMPHASIS ON THE “PLURIBUS,” INSTEAD OF THE “UNUM,” WE CAN BALKANIZE AMERICA AS SURELY AS KOSOVO.

VII. THEN I WOULD PLACE ALL THESE SUBJECTS OFF LIMITS - MAKE IT TABOO TO TALK ABOUT. I WOULD FIND A WORD SIMILAR TO “HERETIC” IN THE 16TH CENTURY - THAT STOPPED DISCUSSION AND PARALYZED THINKING. WORDS LIKE “RACIST”, “XENOPHOBE” THAT HALTS ARGUMENT AND CONVERSATION.

HAVING MADE AMERICA A BILINGUAL-BICULTURAL COUNTRY, HAVING ESTABLISHED MULTICULTURALISM, HAVING THE LARGE FOUNDATIONS FUND THE DOCTRINE OF “VICTIMOLOGY”, I WOULD NEXT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS. I WOULD DEVELOP A MANTRA - “THAT BECAUSE IMMIGRATION HAS BEEN GOOD FOR AMERICA, IT MUST ALWAYS BE GOOD.” I WOULD MAKE EVERY INDIVIDUAL IMMIGRANT SYMPATRIC AND IGNORE THE CUMULATIVE IMPACT.

VIII. LASTLY, I WOULD CENSOR VICTOR HANSON DAVIS’S BOOK MEXIFORNIA — THIS BOOK IS DANGEROUS — IT EXPOSES MY PLAN TO DESTROY AMERICA. SO PLEASE, PLEASE — IF YOU FEEL THAT AMERICA DESERVES TO BE DESTROYED — PLEASE, PLEASE — DON’T BUY THIS BOOK! THIS GUY IS ON TO MY PLAN.

“THE SMART WAY TO KEEP PEOPLE PASSIVE AND OBEDIENT IS TO STRICTLY LIMIT THE SPECTRUM OF ACCEPTABLE OPINION, BUT ALLOW VERY LIVELY DEBATE WITHIN THAT SPECTRUM.” — NOAM CHOMSKY, AMERICAN LINGUIST AND US MEDIA AND FOREIGN POLICY CRITIC.

I'll let you score the point if you will tell me when this was published in the LA Times. I'll go check it out for myself. And if it turns out that 1) this REALLY was published in the LA Times, and 2) it is accurate, I will make a very kind, formal apology to you here in this forum post haste.

  • While some of your ideas are unique, some are illegal.
WE really can't use the CIA for domestic police work, they are more of an intelligence gathering (a poor one at that) organization. We already have ICE inside the Home Land Security for illegal immigration...Illegal entry into the United States is a Federal Misdemeanor,so why would the Texas Rangers be involved?

6 million undocumented workers of the 13 million or so, are here on overstayed visas...Need to update the SSA and Homeland Security database...Congress has already approved funds to hire and train thousands of new border agents, and they are due to graduate later this year.

A great number of things are being done right now like biometric cards for everyone( some of my friends are getting them at work)aerial surveillance and steep employer sanctions in Arizona.

This can all be done with a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill.

  • Snopes aims to debunk or confirm widely spread urban legends. The site is often referenced by news media and other sites, including CNN,[7] FOX news,[8] and MSNBC.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snopes
    A little more reference material
Swati Pandey has done some great follow up work on the earlier mentioned “facts about illegal immigrants”, and points out that five of the ten “facts” attributed to the Los Angeles Times can not be sourced back to the paper.
Additionally, even the statistics that were cited in the paper were either inaccurately repeated or taken out of context.
The key “fact” that raised bells is the one that claimed that 95% of outstanding warrants are for illegal immigrants. Pandey responds:An outstanding warrant is quite a different beast than a regular warrant, so this “fact” left out the key word. We did some more checking on the outstanding warrants point itself. (The Manhattan Institute’s Heather ) MacDonald stated this in a 2004 City Journal article, and in testimony before the House of Representatives in spring 2005, noting that this came to 1,200-1,500 warrants. One LAPD officer cited the same factoid in the National Review earlier this year, saying that it’s specific to “the first half of 2004″. But Jane Robison, press secretary for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, told us that the D.A. does not keep track of this number; a representative with Detective Headquarters said the same.

  • RE: ragman
You are right about Snopes (you knew that) it is a bipartisan fact checker. That right wing blog material has been out for over a couple years, and has been discredited by several facts checking websites. What is that again; fear, smear, and?
BTW Why would a fact checking website check out the legitimacy of the cut-and-paste, cherry picked doctored stats?…. A reliable sourced document would never be questioned

    July 30, 2008 at 2:50 p.m.
  • I thought snopes was right leaning! So maybe they are just printing their findings.

    July 30, 2008 at 2:34 p.m.
  • NO, I DO NOT AGREE!!! The stats came directly from the L.A. Times.....that is where I got them and I hardly think the L.A. Times is in the habit of printing erroneous statistics.

Snopes, which is a liberal leaning source, and which in spite of what people seem to think, is NOT the word of God and has been wrong in many instances, disagreed with some of the statistics and quoted other sources and slightly different numbers. The numbers were still disturbing. You can take any set of statistics and come up with a different sampling which is slightly different. Snopes does not say the stats are inaccurate, it says they are "mixed", which means that Snopes doesn't like some of them and has found sources that are slightly different.

As someone who travels to L.A. every month to six weeks on business....I can tell you from personal observation that California is very quickly becoming Mexifornia. There are virtually no service personnel that are legal, The problem that should bother everyone is that these illegals are hired because they can easily be abused by their employers. That is so wrong. It is also wrong that they are sending billions of American dollars to Mexico while they are consuming our education, social service, healthcare, and law enforcement dollars here at home at an unbelievable rate.

If you want to write the L.A.Times and tell them they are not accurate in their reporting according to Snopes, be prepared for a big laugh.

    July 30, 2008 at 11:54 a.m.
  • So you agree, they were not CONFIRMED statistic as you first posted?

    July 30, 2008 at 6:50 a.m.
  • Read the Snopes report.....there are some conflicting stats on a couple of things but for the most part they agree they are valid statistics.

    July 29, 2008 at 11:43 p.m.
  • Regarding the LA Times info:
    www.snopes.com ...Illegal aliens...Item #4
    They are not confirmed statistics.

  • Illegal immigration has to be stopped....tragedies like the Chubby trailer massacre will happen again and we have no idea how many people die or are killed trying to get to the U.S. The bad in this situation works both ways. We can't afford illegal immigration and the mechanism of smuggling illegals is criminal and cruel.

At the time the incident at Chubby's happened I met one of the gentlemen who was in the trailer as he was recovering here in Victoria. He was not from Mexico but from South America. His English was near perfect and he was intelligent and verbose. He was a trained welder whose family was still in South America.

He had payed a Coyote over $3000 to get him into the states. The Coyote transported him as far as Mexico and then disappeared. The man got a job in Mexico to earn more money to make it the rest of the way. With his welding skills he was back on the road to the U.S. This time the fee was $2000. All of this work and effort to better his life and $6000 of hard earned money paid to criminals, only to end up at Chubby's.

The story he told was hard for him to tell and hard to listen to. Children crying, the smell of human excrement, unable to sit and stretching upward to get to a layer where the air was more breathable; holding a child who he did not even know because he was afraid the little one would be trampled....the heat and sweat running in his eyes and the worse part was knowing that there were dead people all around him, and the heat...always the heat; "The heat of hell" he called it.

The United States cannot take in all the poor and deprived in the world. I vehemently believe in enforcing the immigration laws that we have. I also think we should make the transporting of illegals a capital crime if any one of those transported is killed or injured.

Employers who hire illegals should be given exorbitant fines.....they are the criminals here.

I travel to California often and can honestly say that at least 90% of the maids, janitors, servers in the most fancy hotels are all illegal....the hotels hire them because they can be exploited. The last time I went, I spoke with a maid who told me that if they missed even one day because of illness, they were fired; and when I asked her about being paid for working overtime, she did not know what "overtime" was.

The fact is that most of those who come here are willing to work to better their life; however more and more of them are coming to take advantage of the social programs and to get involved in crime and gangs where the money is better and the work easier.

We have to STOP the illegals from coming and send those here back. Then we have to look at the programs we have now and make it easier for people to get here legally, but at the same time, curbing the huge numbers which are presently milking our education, health, law enforcement, and social programs dry.

These are some confirmed statistics for the State of California as published in the L.A. Times

    1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

    2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

    3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

    4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

    5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

    6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

    7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

    8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

    9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

    10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
    (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County . )

From my standpoint this problem has nothing to do with racism or prejudice....it has to do with the fact that the U.S. cannot afford to treat the illegal problem the way it has in the past. If not addressed, the problem will be the ruin our country; and we Amerian Citizens will be paying Coyotes to get us into Canada so we can get jobs.

Stop Illegal immigration by enforcing the laws we have. Slam those who hire illegals. Establish well controlled and monitored guest worker programs and streamline the legal entry process for those who follow the law. That old line about not being able to deport those who are already here illegally because it would be too expensive is a crock! The numbers prove that the cost of deportation will be more than paid back by massive savings in healthcare, education, welfare, and law enforcement.

Recently on T.V. there was a spot about 3 Middle Eastern Men who were detained at the Mexican border. They held what looked like legal Mexican Passports....in fact they were legal Mexican Passports which they had purchased from corrupt Mexican officials at a cost of $5,000 each. It is not only the Mexican illegals we have to worry about...we also have to force Mexico to abide by the law. I personally feel NAFTA at least from the Mexican side is a disaster. And please don't way that is racist. We don't have problems with Canadian vehicles not meeting safety standards and being used to smuggle tons of drugs into our country.

The drug cartels are close to controlling the government in Mexico. It happened in Columbia and it can happen there. Last year on a vacation to an island off the Coast of Mexico the locals told us that they do not allow their women and children go to the mainland to shop or get supplies....the crime and incidents of kidnapping children have gotten so bad that even these Mexican citizens will not travel into the mainland of their own country.

We are one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world and yet those in power claim that we are unable to keep track of those who enter our country. Mexico does it, every other country in the world does it. Let's ask them....maybe they can help us.

  • ErnieCash, lots of good points and ideas.
One thing that must be changed is the 14th Amendment. Babies born to illegal alien women on U.S. soil should not be automatic citizens. This is in fact the biggest incentive of all of them. Even if work wasn't available, illegals would still sneak into the U.S. in order to have children. Once born in the U.S., the children are citizens and can get government aid. The more children the illegal has, the more money she gets. There are illegal women in the U.S. that don't need jobs, because they live off of the government assistance provided to their children. This MUST stop. No more automatic citizenship for kids born to illegal aliens. I totally agree with stiffer penalties for the businesses hiring illegals. The United States has become a sanctuary for 3rd world people that are basically vampires. The feed on the free social services provided by U.S. taxpayers. One illegal alien women interviewed on the news asked if she felt guilty that she just had her 4th baby in the U.S. and hasn't paid a dime for hospital visits. She said she thinks it's okay because God is looking out for her. This type of thinking is parasitic. The woman doesn't care about the United States. She only cares that she gets free health care.

  • Yates - I have high respect for you. You are brave to speak the truth though noone wants to hear it. You are NOT alone. Just because the ignorant have a louder mouth than we do doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of people out here to back you up.

We need to start speaking louder than the ignorant people out there.

Opinions are opinions people, you can speak your mind if you want - after all it is America, but FACTS are FACTS:

Illegal immigrants are cancer to this country and we need a cure!

    July 29, 2008 at 4 p.m.
  • It's no more fair to characterize all illegal immigrants as criminals than it is to characterize all white Americans as racists. Get a grip, folks.

But it's ludicrous to characterize any American, white or otherwise, as a racist simply because he or she recognizes and admits that the illegal immigration problem is a problem and takes a stance against it. I'm sorry if some; swbones, Podunk, et.al, are less tactful and/or have considerably less empathy for HOW to handle the problem than some others, but you simply can't call them racists or ignorant because they're calling it like it is.

The victims that are emphasized in the Fatal Funnel series were criminals. That's no less a fact than it is my opinion that NO ONE should die the excrutiating deaths these people suffered. If that were the case we could save a lot of Texas tax money and just let the folks over at state pen buy a couple of air tight semi trailers and do away with the Texas Vaccination.

But what about solutions? I've stated mine before but...

    1. Businesses that hire illegal aliens (i.e. are just as criminal as the illegals they're hiring) simply MUST be held to punishment that's more costly than the unholy profits they make hiring them. First offense, fines large enough to be meaningful. Second offense, loss of business license for one year. Third offense (you're out!); business shut down and all assets seized and sold at public auction just like drug dealers' vehicles. (This in itself would solve about half the IA problem right off the bat.)

    2. Deportation should be an option in only very select cases. First of all, if we implement #1 and take away the motivation to come here in the first place, what impetus will there be to stay. Sorry, I'm not paying for your ride home. Get there the same way you got here. I'll make swbones refrain from shooting you as long as you're going SOUTH. In the meantime and afterward, if you're here illegally and get caught there's no deportation, you go to jail.

    3. Absolutely no government aid to illegal aliens. If you can't prove you're here legally; no food stamps, no public education for your anchor kids, no subsidized housing. And if you show up at the emergency room for treatment you better be unconscious or bleeding profusely. Otherwise, you're on your own.

Forget a fence. It simply is not going to work until/unless we implement the above. Someone already mentioned that many of these coming from Mexico and Central America have crossed forests, mountains and desserts. I doubt a chain link fence is going to send them back the same route.

One problem (I'm sure many of you will be happy to point out) is that we're going to have jails and prisons, that are already full, bursting at the seams with illegal immigrants. I have a solution for that too; although the PC crowd isn't going to like it much. They'll call it slave labor but they're wrong.

I have to work to pay for the roof over my head. My labor pays for the food that goes into my belly. (See where I'm going with this?) Slave labor means providing a service to someone else for no, or very little, in return. I contend that the taxpayers are the ones being forced into slave labor to pay for the prison system. Not only is my labor housing, clothing and feeding me and my family, it's paying for *prisoners'* housing, clothing and food. There's something wrong with this picture.

Put inmates to work. The left side keeps telling me there are millions of jobs out there illegals do because Americans won't.

Ummmmmm.... hellllooooo.... Guess what? The same act or acts that got you a ride to the big house is going to seriously limit your career choices in my system. Farmer Brown needs a crew to pick lettuce? We got all the hands you need and the cost is comparable - and LEGAL. Need a new toll road? We got ditch diggers, shovel operators and rebar toters galore.

If that's "cruel and unusual punishment" ... well, maybe padded leg irons.....

  • I sure hope John isn't one of those eye for an eye type of dudes. If he is, judging by the articles posted, we definitely owe those illegals a couple. I'll see all of you devilish white hooligans at the park, where we can wait for someone brown to come by.
This thread has gotten absolutely ridiculous.
And for all of you police investigators, I'm joking. There will be no white rally at the park. Save me the visit.

Child Rape Suspect Caught In Polk County

TAMPA – An illegal immigrant wanted on more than 80 counts of rape on children in North Carolina was captured tonight in Haines City, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.

At about 7 p.m., agents with the U.S. Marshals' Tampa Bay Area Futigive Task Force and the Polk County Sheriff's Office found and arrested Israel Trejo, 30, on Hinson Avenue East, according to a news release.

  • In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

    • A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

    • The leadership of the Columbia Lil’ Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.’s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

A wave of illegal-immigrant gang rapes is sweeping the U.S. while public officials and law-enforcement authorities fear drawing the link, experts say.Deborah Schurman-Kauflin, a Ph.D. researcher of violent crimes, told WorldNetDaily, "It appears as if there is a fear that if this is honestly discussed, people will hate all illegal immigrants. So there is silence. … But in being silent about the rapes and murders, it is as if the victims never even existed."Schurman-Kauflin, who runs the Violent Crimes Institute in Atlanta, participated in a 12-month, in-depth study of illegal immigrants who committed sex crimes and murders from January 1999 through April 2006. The study found approximately 240,000 illegal-immigrant sex offenders reside in the United States – while 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sexual offenders come across U.S. borders illegally every day.

  • So is John reverse discriminating? I think he actually hates white people more than he believes whites hate mexicans. John...news flash....as long as you spew the hate filled racist rhetoric the racism issue will not go away. Why do you think it's okay to stereotype all white people & then get angry when you feel as if you are being stereotyped? Hypocrites come in all colors, as do racists.

This is the part that illegal immigration supporters don't understand. Citizens of hispanic origin seem to support illegal immigration in higher numbers than those from other ethcic backgrounds. What puzzles me is why they can't understand that these criminals will do them harm just as quickly as to someone of another race.
If these people were hispanic, where is LULAC?
Had it been a white guy that did this, you know they would be all over it.
Regardless, it is a tragedy that should have never happened. I think we should hold any public official in San Francisco that has anything to do with sanctuary policy responsible for these 3 deaths. Their day of reckoning is coming.

  • Mike - rather than throwing rocks - why don't you enlighten us with your version of a solution to this problem.

    July 28, 2008 at 4:39 p.m.
  • "throw a rock over the fence, hit dog hollers"

    July 28, 2008 at 4:33 p.m.
  • Sorry Mike, if you wanted to communicate with goliadchica only, then you would not have posted here. Your insults are taken for what they are - insults. And I love your holier than thou air of superiority - very impressive.

  • Haters??

Someone who believes in obeying the law, is a hater?

Let me see, maybe we all should look the other way when someone robs a bank, or someone else, if they are trying to help their family's with the money. Or, the drug seller and dealers if they use that money to help someone. Hey, lets look the other way when someone needs a car and decides to lift it off of someone that they think doesn't need it as much as they do. Then, we have to also look the other way when someone needs food and decides to steal it from the store, or goes into someone's house and helps themselves.

You cannot a have a free society where the end justifies the means. You are asking for total chaos....must like what is happening right now.
It's gonna get worse before it ever gets better if people don't quit looking at America as their only salvation. The taxpayers of this Country cannot support everyone that wants to come here. That "should" be common sense to everyone.

  • My comment was to Goliadchica with my personal observation, hence (IMO) not trying to shut anyone up at all.
Continue with the immigrant bashing, be my guest. It's the Victoria on line form free for all opinions, unless they are personal attacks, name-calling, and bad language, obviously unsubstantiated information posted as fact, is not enforced.
I am just a everyday run-of-the-mill poster, with no authority whatsoever... I like it that way.
People that know  me consider me to be a mellowed out .harmless old man that does not hate his fellow human being, but I don't want to be mistaken for a door mat....Everyone is free to have their opinions of me....I live a "sticks and stones" "live and let live"..life.  It's not as stressful.

  • Hi Mike,

So true, should be "igging" the haters.

Have a good evening. I got chickens to take care of.....

    July 28, 2008 at 3:46 p.m.
  • Mike - I love how you try to shut people up by calling them "haters" - another example of the pot calling the kettle black. You are clearly a gifted and intelligent debater

    July 28, 2008 at 3:43 p.m.
  • Hello Goliadchica
You are too intelligent to be posting in this thread... It started with the author, and it's best left with the immigrant bashers, so they can trade tidbits from the latest WWW.Ihatemexicans.com.. It's how they get their kicks with other like-minded posters....IMO
They will run out of their recycled material ,then simply go away.

    July 28, 2008 at 3:01 p.m.
  • Oh please goliad chica - get a grip. You will never win support with such a nasty attitude

    July 28, 2008 at 2:56 p.m.
  • IF there were enough legal immigrants to do the jobs, we wouldn't need illegals. Americans don't want the jobs cuz they don't pay as much as a Micky D's job.

....You wouldn't need so many illegals if the companies were forced to pay what the job is worth. You force them to pay a livable wage by not having a alternative available.

You act like Americans don't already do hard labor - ever try roughneckin? decking on a shrimp boat? being a ranch hand? Americans do plenty of hard jobs - but they get paid for it, sometimes even a living wage.

...didn't I say that Americans will do those jobs if they get a chance at a livable wage? BTW, my husband roughnecked for years and grew up chopping cotton, pulling corn by hand. It's not that bad of a life if the wages make it worth it. There are many, many Americans that will work labor jobs if they can make a living at it.

Our problem is caused by greedy corporations and greedy consumers who don't want to pay what it would cost to pay an American worker a decent wage. We want cheap produce and cheap labor so we don't pay $4 a head for lettuce.

...Uh, how many prices go down when illegal workers are hired? The wages are to make more profit for the companies...not make prices cheaper. When people are making livable wages, they don't blink an eye at paying a fair price for food. And, take 11 million people out of the food chain over here, and what happens to the need for more workers? I'll repeat it again. There are enough legal workers here to do those jobs in the field, if they got pulled off of some of the other jobs they are taking...ones that Americans will do, and did do in the past.

I repeat, they wouldn't come if we hadn't created a need.
Legal immigrants can supplant the illegal ones.

...If you supplant the illegal workers with legal ones, the cheapest labor will be gone and you will be back to square one with corporations wanting to find cheaper labor, that they can exploit. Legal workers will demand more rights and consessions by employers. I already see things happening. Don't you?

    July 28, 2008 at 2:55 p.m.
  • i said it seemed like a cold statement - just an opinion, not a debate. My opinion - note the emphasis on "statement".

I did not attack you personally, but commenting on the character of people you don't know says something about you.

oh yeah, guns solve everything, right.....well, some people already shoot illegals on their property, that sure has helped the situation hasn't it?

    July 28, 2008 at 2:50 p.m.
  • LMAO

    July 28, 2008 at 2:48 p.m.
  • Some people break the law in pursuit of a better life and some people obey the law in pursuit of a better life. Goliadchica which pursuit do you advocate?
p.s. attacking me as "cold" is out of line - just tells me you cannot debate without personal attacks which speaks to your character (or lack thereof)

    July 28, 2008 at 2:38 p.m.
  • Podunk that makes no sense at all.

Don't remember mentioning caviar - just not violating human rights.

But, you know, you could just ignore my posts if they bother you so much.

I'm sure you have the perfect solution to the problem, so perfect that we shouldn't even be having any further discussion on the issue.

What a silly idea, you are so right. Treating humans like they have worth. *hanging head in shame, taking my ball and going home* (sniff)

    July 28, 2008 at 2:32 p.m.
  • it is still a cold cold comment about people who were killed.

  • ...It's not more feasible to allow more legal workers into the US...and keep all of the illegal workers here. There will always be people coming across illegally and allowing more legal workers too is just doubling the problem....

I don't think so. IF we had legal workers (who would work for the cheap wages), there would be no need for the illegals. If they can't get work, they have to go home - because that's why they come.....

And who wouldn't be here if our companies didn't hire them.

...and companies wouldn't be hiring them if they weren't coming here. Then the companies would have to pay fair wages to the workers they hire and provide job safety. Why blame it all on the companies. The illegals are every bit as responsible for their own fate and treatment by employers. Although the companies should be hung out to dry for breaking the law...

That is putting the cart before the horse. FIRST there is a need, THEN come the people to fill the need. It wasn't the other way around.

Don't blame the illegals for the poor way we treat them on the job. Humans are humans and should not be mistreated by American companies for any reason.

Maybe, just maybe, if we gave them a legal way to work, they might go home just so they could come back legally?

...do you really think that is gonna happen? If they were so worried about being legal, this wouldn't be an issue right now. They will keep coming no matter what, because they are counting on public outcry to save them...

Yes, I think it would be an enticement for them to leave and come back legally. You got a better answer to the problem? Do you really think they WANT to be illegal? Gimme a break. They just want to work and have a better life. It would be much better to be a legal worker in the US.

There certainly is no easy solution to the mess we are in, but shouldn't the blame be on businesses that hire any illegal worker AND the short-sighted immigration policies that limit the availability of legal immigrant workers?

...don't kid yourelf. There are enough legal immigrants to do the jobs that Americans don't want. The problem comes when jobs are being taken away from Americans that cannot work for the low wages that illegals will work for. Do you honestly think that Americans will not do construction jobs, roofing, plumbing, and the many other jobs deemed unacceptable to Americans "by the media"? They were doing those jobs before the wages dropped so low that they could not make a living at it. The illegal workers empower the employers to cut their costs and relax safety standards and basically hire these workers as slaves and they don't care about them as human beings. Now the illegal workers are starting to demand overtime pay and equality. HELLO???? The only reason that they get jobs is because the employers can break the law and know that no one will talk on them...

IF there were enough legal immigrants to do the jobs, we wouldn't need illegals. Americans don't want the jobs cuz they don't pay as much as a Micky D's job.

We need to give the illegals a way to come over here and work if we want to keep cheap labor and food.

  • goliadchica - I think you are overly biased (and not objective) - these people died breaking the law - so that does make them criminals. I admit they are victims. Will you admit they are criminals? I didn’t think so.

  • Typically when you break the law, bad things happen. They would not have died, had they entered this country legally. I wish no one harm, and I am sorry they died. However, they brought the whole tragedy upon themselves, and those involved only have themselves to blame. Plus they have caused numerous medical and law enforcement personnel to suffer emotional trauma due to their illegal and selfish actions. This was an entirely preventable event.

    July 28, 2008 at 12:54 p.m.
  • How rude and selfish of this nut. I guess its okay for immigrants to get shot at. And death in trailor is okay as punishment? Unforgivable. If it was one of his family members maybe he would understand how hard it is and he wouldn't make such horrible comments.

  • If we didn't have 12-20 million illegal Mexican immigrants in our country an increase in workers permits would be fine, but not with the numbers of illegals we already have.

    July 28, 2008 at 12:46 p.m.
  • I don't know why we don't issue enough worker permits to let in enough workers from Mexico or wherever. Why the limits if we need these workers so badly?

    July 28, 2008 at 12:40 p.m.
  • It astounds me that people are advocating for law breaking criminals. I am all for legal immigration. Pursuing a "better life" does not make it OK to break the laws of this land. Why anyone would encourage breaking the law is beyond me.

  • Spoken like a true nazi son. Well...Bill.... lets talk about some more American laws. How about bomb making? Threats with bombs? Using overseas accounts to avoid paying AMERICAN taxes? In my opinion people like that should be put in prison and used as slaves at hard labor. How about wife beaters? Same punishment. Any of this sound familiar...Billy Boy? How are those problems with Immigration coming along? Keep us all posted.
