SAN ANTONIO (AP) – D’Andre Williams of Amarillo Palo Duro scored 19 points to lead the North past the South 109-103 Monday night in the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Basketball Game.

Williams, a 6-foot guard named the player of the year in the Amarillo area last season, had 10 of his points during a two-minute stretch of the second half and added 11 assists. He plans to play at Odessa College.

Julian Boyd of San Antonio Taft had 27 points and 18 rebounds in just 21 minutes and was named the South’s player of the game.

The North led 72-64 when Williams hit a 3-pointer to start the fourth quarter. The North’s lead grew to 17 points before Abel Galliguez of Fort Bend Dulles hit four 3-pointers to pull the South within two points with less than two minutes remaining.

Cory Dixon, a 6-foot-7 forward from Argyle, made all six of his free throws in the final minute to seal the win for the North. Dixon, who signed with Northwestern State, scored 23 points and won the slam-dunk contest at halftime.
