The Victoria ladies will give an ice cream festival on the Public Square Thursday evening, Aug. 6, for the benefit of the newly organized brass band. The citizenship of Victoria appreciates the free open-air concerts given by the band and al and everyone should feel interested in the permanency of an organization which contributes so largely to the pleasure and refinement of a community.
The North Heights auction sale parade yesterday was quite a novel sight. It formed at the Public Square at 1 o’clock and headed by the Victoria brass band, proceeded to the addition. A large number of carriages were in line and the procession extended over several blocks. It is estimated 5,000 people attended the sale. Ample accommodations have been provided at Miracle for those desiring to take baths in the Magic Mud. Eight bath houses have been erected and others will be built in the next few weeks. Free transportation and baths will be given to the people of Victoria for several days.
