AUSTIN (AP) — Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for July 30. (Report also available on Web as www.txfishing.com.)

BASTROP: Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water stained. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Catfish are very good on perch.

FAYETTE: Water clear 95 degrees. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps early and late, and on Carolina rigged watermelon red, watermelon gold, watermelon seed, and green pumpkin soft plastics over humps during the day. Channel and blue catfish are slow.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky 83 degrees 1.24 feet low. Black bass to 8 pounds are good on minnows in 20 feet. Hybrid striper are fair on shad. White bass are fair on shad. Crappie are slow.

BRAUNIG: Water stained 83 degrees. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds. Striped bass are excellent on liver and shad off points, and down rigging silver and gold spoons near the jetty and dam. Redfish are excellent on perch, tilapia, shad, and silver spoons, and down rigging near the jetty and dam.

CHOKE CANYON: Water lightly stained 92 degrees 2.77 feet low. Black bass are good on chartreuse/white spinnerbaits and large soft plastics. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Drum are fair on worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait.

COLETO CREEK: Water clear 90 degrees (99 degrees at discharge) 2.62 feet low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are fair on trotlines baited with liver, shrimp, and perch. Yellow catfish to 8 pounds are fair on trotlines.
