Southwest outscores Cuero; Northeast beats Northwest

INEZ – Victoria Southwest defeated Cuero 26-21 Sunday in a continuation from Saturday’s District 27 11-year-old baseball tournament game.

The completion of Saturday’s game was postponed until Sunday due to curfew restrictions.

Victoria Southwest will play Victoria Northeast, a 9-3 winner Sunday over Victoria Northwest, today at 6 p.m.

Timothy Gleinser and Case Winter both hit home runs to lead Northeast.

In Sunday’s later game, Victoria Southeast beat Cuero 15-5.

Southeast will play Northwest today at 8 p.m.

Goliad 10, runge 8

CUERO – Goliad defeated Runge 10-8 Sunday at the District 27 Area I 11- and 12-year-old baseball tournament.

Goliad came back from a 3-2 deficit on Saturday and used a triple play to beat Falls City/Karnes City 13-3.

Edna 9, Victoria Southeast 4

INEZ – Edna defeated Victoria Southeast 9-4 Sunday in the District 27 11- and 12-year-old softball tournament.

Calhoun beat Ganado 10-5 in Sunday’s later game.

Today, Falls City will play Edna at 6 p.m. and Southeast will face Karnes City/Kenedy/Runge at 8 p.m.

EDNA – Calhoun County defeated Bloomington 14-3 in the District 27 Area II 9- and 10-year-old baseball tournament.

Edna beat Karnes City/Runge 27-11 in the District 27 9- and 10-year-old softball tournament.
