Investigators still don’t know how a six-week-old boy died in his parents’ home Saturday.

The boy’s father found the baby unconscious in their Pinnacle Pointe Apartment at about 10:15 a.m., Detective Jeffery Lehnert said.

He tried to resuscitate the baby and called 911, but the boy could not be revived, Lehnert said.

The boy’s body was sent to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. It could take up to 90 days before investigators know the boy’s cause of death, Lehnert said.

A cause of death was not apparent Saturday, Lehnert said. A detective who handles juvenile crimes will investigate the case, he said.
