“It’s never too late to take a journey into a new dimension,” said Dell Williams, of Victoria.
The two-dimensional, that is.
Load, press, push, turn, slide. The “One Stroke” technique in painting uses words like these to describe the motions of the brush.
Invented by painter Donna Dewberry about 10 years ago, One Stroke has become a very popular method, possibly because it shows instant results even for novices. “Oh, my goodness. Oh, my, look at that. I mean, you can see results,” Williams said. She is a first-time painter in the “One Stroke” class taught by instructor Monica Kast.
For Williams, it’s more than just a lovely end product. It’s about relaxation as well.
“You can feel letting go. You can feel like you’re just flowing,” Williams said.
The class meets every Monday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Hobby Lobby on N. Navarro Street.
