Editor, the Advocate:
Sure glad the election 2008 is over. And I hope that the people who voted for Obama get the change they have been shouting for. Oh yeah, the continent of Africa several years back - the people were gung-ho for change. Well, if you read the Advocate or listen to radio or TV, you know they got their change. Merry Christmas.

I understand where you are coming from Mike, we as a nation will just have to sit back and hope and pray that something happens, the sooner the better, but not holding my breath. No one is perfect, and no one person can just wave a wand and make everything go back to the way it use to be. Change is evident, whether it's better or worse.. we just don't know. People just have to remember that a new president does not always mean great things.
November 20, 2008 at 12:43 p.m.After eight years of the George W. Bush administration ,people knew what they didn't want(they had something to work on)...It also showed up in the congressional races.
A lot of failed policies are being thrown onto the lap of a competent, intelligent person who will not always make the right decision but judgment won over experience in the last election...Who knows? My crystal ball is no better than anyone else's.
November 20, 2008 at 12:09 p.m.Yes...the election is over. Now all we can do is wait and see if the majority that voted gets all that they expect from the new president...I suppose lots of people are going to be let down. All this will come out in time. I do realize that the people have spoken and place a new man as president, but sometimes people don't really know what is good for them. I would think that if you let the public vote on raising the speed limit to say 85 or so..you would get a lot of votes, but that doesnt mean it is a good thing. I think we will learn from this, and maybe the next election will be based on actual merit instead of media hype.
